 54:0">The HSR Refresher OHS training course held over one day relates spec
 ifically to health and aged care workplaces\, with a strong focus on issue
 s and hazards relevant to nursing and midwifery. This WorkSafe-approved HS
 R refresher course is an opportunity to revisit aspects of the initial cou

 :0">This course is approved by WorkSafe Victoria.</span></span></p>\n<p da

 ion 67 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004\, HSRs and Deputy HS
 Rs\, after being elected\, are entitled after completing the initial cours
 e\, to attend an approved one day refresher course at least once in each y
 ear that they hold office. The course must be chosen by the HSR in consult
 ation with their employer. The HSR is entitled to time off work with pay a
 nd the costs associated with attendance at the course paid by the employer
  inclusive of the course fee. </span></span></p>\n<p data-key="168"><span

 ger or relevant person of the facility requesting payment for training wit
 hin 14 days\, unless payment has already been remitted through an alternat

 data-offset-key="184:0">Elected Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) a
 nd Deputy Health and Safety Representatives (DHSRs) are entitled to time o
 ff work with pay to attend WorkSafe Victoria approved OHS training in acco
 rdance with Section 67 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004.</sp

 ey="186:0">Under Section 67 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004
 \, HSRs and Deputy HSRs\, after being elected\, are entitled after complet
 ing the initial course\, to attend an approved one day refresher course at
  least once in each year that they hold office. The course must be WorkSaf
 e approved and chosen by the HSR in consultation with their employer. The 
 HSR is entitled to time off work with pay and the costs associated with at

 lation\, employers must not obstruct or prevent Health and Safety Represen
 tatives from attending an approved course of their choice. The OHS Act 200
 4 states that employers are required to be provided with 14 day&rsquo\;s n
 otice of attendance at an OHS course of training.</span></span></p>\n<p da

 "><span data-offset-key="196:0">About the elected HSR</span></span></p>\n<
 p data-key="197"><span data-key="198"><span data-offset-key="198:0">Employ
 ees are entitled to be represented in relation to health and safety matter
 s. An HSR is the vital link in the communication process between the emplo
 yees and the employer in relation to occupational health and safety.</span
 ></span></p>\n<p data-key="199"><span data-key="200"><span data-offset-key
 ="200:0">An HSR represents the employees in their Designated Work Group (D
 WG) by raising\, monitoring and resolving OHS matters with their employer.
 </span></span></p>\n<p data-key="201"><span data-key="202"><span data-offs
 et-key="202:0">The key factor to remember is that an elected HSR represent
 s the interests of the employees. It is not an appointed position and does
  not have any associated responsibility for meeting the health and safety

 What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the tra

 a-offset-key="207:0">Melbourne Central railway station is a short walk or 
 tram ride to 535 Elizabeth Street\, Melbourne VIC 3000. Tram Routes 19\, 5
 7 and 59 travel along Elizabeth Street and the trams all stop outside Quee

 9"><span data-offset-key="209:0">There is also metered on-street parking l
 ocated on Elizabeth street and at the rear of the venue on O鈥機onnell stree
